A Distinctive Vacation Option: Yacht Charters in Corsica
Located in the Mediterranean between France and Italy is Corsica which is a popular destination for yacht charters in the West Mediterranean. Corsica is an island that is a perfect blend of mountain and beach. Known as the Isle of Beauty, Corsica natives reflect the cultures of both of their closest neighbors. The island’s mountainous terrain reflects its volcanic origin. Monte Cinto is the highest peak at 8,878 feet, while the island also touts 620 miles of beaches.

Corsica
Corsica’s climate varies with elevation, allowing it to experience summer and winter almost simultaneously. The coastal region experiences typical Mediterranean weather, including hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. As you leave the coastline and begin ascending the mountain, the temperatures drop and rain is more prevalent. At the top of the mountains, plant life is sparse, temperatures are frigid, and snow caps are often seen.
Tourists, particularly yacht charter guests, enjoy the 200 beaches of Corsica. The waters during the warm months are often as warm as bathwater, encouraging water sports such as swimming, diving, kayaking, and more.
When enjoying a Corsica yacht charter, you’ll want to visit as many of the beautiful islands as possible. The dark-pebble beach of Albo is unlike any other on the island. The nearby village of Cap Corse features a 16 th century Genoese tower that is in excellent condition. Between the islands of Rousse and Calvi is Algajola beach, a gathering place for funboarders. Near Piana in the Gulf of Porto is the sand beach of Arone, while Marinella, a family beach, is in the Gulf of Valinco. Pinia beach features an endless line of sea pines, and Palombaggia, near Porto Vecchio, is surrounded by an ancient pine forest. The latter is a family beach that faces the Cerbicale Islands. Cupabia, like Marinella, is located in the Gulf of Valinco. It is a peaceful beach near a small creek. The secluded beach of Saleccia is mostly accessed by boat, although one could walk or reach it by an off-road vehicle.
