Amalfi

Amalfi is popular during the summer, as Italians on holiday visit to stroll the pedestrian-only streets filled with restaurants and shops. Amalfi is known for its medieval architecture. Do not miss seeing the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea (St. Andrew), or the Chiostro del Paradiso (Cloister of Paradise), which contains old mosaics and paintings.

 

Ravello

Ravello is a small village, with a population numbering about 2,000, that sits atop Amalfi, gazing out over the Mediterranean. The village is famed for its two gardens with panoramic views, Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo.

 

Praiano

Praiano is a quintessential Italian village nestled between Amalfi and Positano. One of the least touristy areas of the Amalfi Coast, the village is has a distinctly local Italian flavor and is home to a number of pristine churches, the most famous being Chiesa di San Luca. The Grotto Esmerelda (Green Grotto), a green light reflection inside a grotto pool, is also a popular attraction and yacht charter destination.

Positano’s buildings cling to a seaside slope overlooking the magnificent blue waters of the Mediterranean. Featured in several films, the village plays host to many tourists who come to cruise through the shops adorned with high Italian fashion or see the landscape filled with gardens, lemon and orange groves, and colorful flowers. Capri

Capri is a picturesque island in the Amalfi Coast favored by the rich and famous since the days of the Roman emporers. Its most striking landmark is the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto), a cave just on the edge of the water that lights up turquoise from below. In ancient times, Tiberius built a number of villas on the island. Many of them are still well-preserved, including Villa Jovis and Villa San Michele.

Naples

Naples is the largest city in Southern Italy, located between Mount Vesuvius and the Phlegraean Fields.
The city was founded by the ancient Greeks and is over 2,800 years old.  It boasts the oldest opera house in Italy, the Teatro di San Carlo.  Well-known for its historical castles, do not miss Castel Nuevo, Castel dell'Ovo and Castel Sant'Elmo.  The heart of the historic center of Naples lies along Spaccanapoli, a street consistently filled with pedestrians passing by multitudes of shops, restaurants and churches.  
The Naples National Archeological Museum hosts important artifacts from the Roman Empire, Pompeii and Herculaneum.  Naples also lays claim as the originator of pizza.  Pizza places are all over the city - make sure you find one with a wood burning oven. Many yacht charters in the Amalfi Coast start in Naples because of its convenient location and the proximity to the airport.
 

 

Sorrento

Sorrento is a small city overlooking the bay of Naples.  Its breathtaking sea cliffs, views of Vesuvius and Capri beckon the rich and famous to stay at one of its luxury hotels or anchor their charter yacht in the harbour for a night or two.  The historical center of Sorrento is where you will find many of the fabulous architecture of the city, including the Cathedral, the Basilica of Sant'Antonio and the Chiostro di San Francesco.  Wandering the streets radiating out from the historical center will take you by many churches, shops, and other medieval buildings.  

Salerno

Salerno is a small city on the western edge of the Amalfi coast.  The city is home to a mix of ancient historical buildings, artisan shops and piazzas often filled with musical gatherings.  The Lungomare Trieste (Promenade of Salerno) lines the city waters, often drawing comparison to the French Riviera. Overlooking the city, you will find the Castello di Arechi (Arechi Castle). Originally built in the Roman-Byzantine era, the castle looks over the entire city and gulf of Salerno. The Centro storico di Salerno (historical downtown) is the best maintained historical center in Italy. All around the Duomo is the most popular shopping area in the city.  Salerno is also home to the Schola Medica Salernitana, the oldest medical school in Europe, hailing from the Middle Ages.

Ischia

Ischia is a volcanic island on the north end of the Gulf of Naples and a must from for yacht charters in the area.  The island is a relaxation paradise, home to 29 thermal spas,  67 fumaroles, and 103 hot springs!  Natural beauty abounds, from Mount Epomeo, once an active volcano now covered in vines and fruit trees, to the Faiano Pine Forest, where you will walk between masses of lava rock as well as pine, chestnut and oak trees. When you need a break from the Amalfi Coast cites, be sure to take a break and visit the island of Ischia.
